She began her academic journey at Rice University, where she completed an Honors Thesis in Biochemistry and Cell Biology and was recognized as a Gates Millennium Scholar. Her passion for global health took her to India, China, and South Africa, where she gained firsthand experience in international women’s health initiatives. She went on to earn her medical degree at Weill Cornell Medical College, where multiple honors distinguished her achievements. Among them were the Gustav Seligmann Prize for Excellence in Obstetrics and Gynecology and fellowships awarded by the National Medical Foundation.
